Adopt a Cat

We post all of our adoptable cats as soon as they are available for adoption. Each rescue cat is posted with individual details and bios to help you find the perfect match for your family. Please be sure to read their bios for specific requirements and suggestions for adoption.

Adopt a Cat FAQ

To get started, please read over our requirements for adoption. There are many rescues in our local area, each with different rules when it comes to adopting a furry friend. After you have determined you fit our requirements, then please submit an Adoption Application!

We post all of our adoptable rescue pets to our website, our Facebook and to Petfinder as soon as they become available for adoption, and we update their status regularly, so you never have to wonder who is, or isn’t available.

All of our cat and kittens reside in foster homes until they are adopted. Meets with our adoptable kittens are only scheduled after we have received and approved your completed application.

To be considered for cat adoption, all applicants must first meet our basic 2 hour radius requirements, as well as our Vet care requirements of having a current and consistent records for ALL pets (past and current) being kept up to date on core vaccinations, yearly heartworm testing and heartworm prevention. We also require that all pets in the home must be/have been spayed/neutered.

We will only contact you if you are selected for a meet or if we have further questions after we have received your completed application. Please keep in mind this policy is in place to take our volunteer’s time into consideration. As a 100% volunteer run organization, we rely on these dedicated individuals that handle our outreach in their spare time. We simply cannot respond to each and every email that comes in.

Upon completion of the entire application, you will receive a notification stating that your form has been submitted.

Our application is lengthly. Please take advantage of the save and continue feature if you need to gather more information needed. If you have submitted an application to us, please be sure to check your email regularly, as well as your spam folder for further communications from us.

All applications are reviewed in the order they are received and qualifications are based on the best fit for each individual animal. The majority of denied applicants do not meet our specific radius, rental and/or vetting requirements. We select adopters based on best overall fit for each animal we rescue; each applicant’s experience, energy level and other details gathered from the application. All of this is considered to select homes that match each cat’s specific needs and personalities.

How long will you hold my application?

We will hold applications for 3 months. If you have applied to adopt a pet, and they were adopted by another applicant or you were not selected for that pet, you may submit a Contact Us form if you see another pet you are interested in adopting. We are happy to screen your existing application for another pet. If it has been over 3 months since you applied, or there have been significant changes in your household (number of people, number of pets, new address, etc.) or any changes in your vet history, please submit a new application. If your original application was for an adult cat, and you have changed interest to a kitten, you will need to submit a new application and answer the questions accordingly.
